The Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Utah Jazz on New Year's Day in what should be a colossal matchup between two of the best teams in the NBA. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Warriors-Jazz prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

The Warriors and Jazz will square off on Saturday night at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Golden State is coming off just their 7th loss of the season at the hands of the Denver Nuggets last Tuesday. Both teams were supposed to run it back on Thursday, but the Nuggets did not have enough bodies available for the rematch. Meanwhile, Utah is riding the momentum of a six-game winning streak following a 120-108 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Warriors-Jazz odds for this Saturday night New Year's Day NBA matchup.

NBA odds: Warriors-Jazz Odds

Warriors: +4.5 (-106)

Jazz: -4.5 (-114)

Why the Warriors Could Cover the Spread

Golden State enters this contest the less healthier team. They are still without Draymond Green, who will miss his second straight game due to health and safety protocols. Reserve guard Damion Lee is also out for the same reason. Klay Thompson has reportedly looked great in his scrimmages with the team, but won't make his long-awaited return on the road. James Wiseman is also still out while recovering from his knee injury, while also dealing with health and safety protocols.

Missing Draymond Green will certainly be a huge blow, as he brings so much for the Warriors both offensively and defensively. His absence, especially on the defensive end, could make it difficult for Golden State in dealing with Jazz center Rudy Gobert.

Despite missing some key personnel, they did get a couple of reinforcements back. Andrew Wiggins came back from a four-game absence due to COVID-19, while Jordan Poole will make his return against the Jazz. Those are definitely welcome additions, especially after they struggled so much offensively against the Nuggets.

The Dubs still hold the top spot in the Western Conference with a 27-7 mark and have an 11-4 record on the road. Without Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and crew may be determined to prove why they are the best team in the league as they take on a surging Jazz squad that is sneakily just on the rearview mirror.

Why the Jazz Could Cover the Spread

Utah has not turned in its injury report just yet, but they should have all their main guys available for this game against Golden State. Mike Conley rested against the Timberwolves and should return on New Year's Day. Joe Ingles also sat out on Friday due to a lower back strain. The added rest could have given him more time to heal the injury ahead of Saturday's game.

This is definitely a massive matchup between two of the top teams in the NBA today. Like the Warriors, the Jazz may have had this game circled on their calendar. The Warriors and the Phoenix Suns have been getting the bulk of the love so far this season. But Utah is right there with them and getting a win over Golden State will inch them closer into making this a three-way race in the West.

Final Warriors-Jazz Prediction & Pick

The Jazz should take the win here and could cover the spread. Golden State is missing their defensive anchor against the top offensive team in the league, which could spell the difference in the game. The Jazz, meanwhile, have been rolling the last six games and are entering this game with the more healthy squad.

Final Warriors-Jazz Prediction & Pick: Jazz -4.5 (-114)
