Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread
Article Continues BelowThis is a tough spot for a cover for Golden State as road favorites without Draymond Green vs. a team that just beat them. Given the absence of Green, this should be more like a pick-em line honestly. The Warriors have been juggernauts this season however so they are going to be favored vs. a Denver team that has struggled due to several guys being in and out of the lineup. Stephen Curry will look to rebound from a below average game on Tuesday and rebound with a win over the Nuggets this time around.
Golden State vs. the spread
The Warriors are 21-11-2 vs. the spread overall this season and had covered in five of their last six before losing as favorites vs. Denver on Tuesday. The Warriors are 5-4-1 vs. the spread as away favorites this season and 18-9-2 as favorites overall.
Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread
The Nuggets just seem to find ways to win as long as Nikola Jokic is on the court. Jokic and company did so again on Tuesday night pulling off the upset win over the Warriors on the road. The big man is having another MVP caliber season after winning the award last season. Jokic is averaging 25.8 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game this season, numbers that are truly spectacular, even if we're used to seeing it from him. Denver will need a typical Jokic performance if they are going to knock off Golden State twice in three days.
Denver vs. the spread
The Nuggets are 14-19 vs. the spread this season as they have battled the extended absences of Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray, who has yet to play this season as he rehabs from a torn ACL. Denver is 5-5 vs. the spread in their last ten games and 2-2 as home underdogs vs. the number this season. This could be a sneaky spot for the Nuggets getting a few points on their home floor vs. a Golden State team who is missing their best defender and passer in Green.
Final Warriors-Nuggets Prediction and Pick
The Nuggets and the points in this one. Denver just beat the Warriors, and now had the homecourt edge in the rematch. They might not win this, but they should be able to keep it close and they are getting enough points to roll with. This one might come down to the wire, so it might be nice to have the points.
Final Warriors-Nuggets Prediction & Pick: Nuggets +4 (-106)
