The Golden State Warriors will play the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Western Conference matchup on Sunday night. It's time continue our NBA odds series with a Warriors-Timberwolves prediction and pick.

The Warriors and Timberwolves will play on Sunday as Minnesota will to snap a two-game skid vs. a short-handed Golden State team. Stephen Curry (hand) and Draymond Green (calf soreness) will both miss this one for the Warriors. The Timberwolves figure to be at or near full strength. Minnesota comes into this one as solid home favorites over what will be a mostly young rotation for the Warriors on Sunday night. Klay Thompson is not listed on the injury report and should be good to go. The Warriors are just 5-5 in their last ten games as they are as cold as they have been all season at the moment.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Warriors-Timberwolves odds for this Sunday NBA matchup.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Warriors will be without Curry and Green, so it might be the Klay show in this one. Andrew Wiggins will also likely see an uptick in shots, as will guys like Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II. This will obviously be a tough game to pull out for Golden State as they will be without their best two players, and their best offensive and defensive player. The Wolves will have all of their key contributors in this one and they have been a pretty solid team when Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell all play this season.

The Warriors are 24-16-2 vs. the spread this season. As a road underdog, Golden State is 5-3 against the line. The Warriors are 4-6 vs. the spread across their last ten games.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

Minnesota should be in a good position here with Edwards and Towns ready to go while Curry and Green will not be active. The Wolves are trying to get back to .500 after dropping their last two games. Towns and Edwards have looked good but overall Minnesota may need a boost at the trade line to make their postseason dreams come true. The Timberwolves are 5-5 in their last ten games and sit as the No. 9 seed in the West entering play. Minnesota has had an up-and-down season that was, like many other teams, recently derailed by a Covid outbreak within their team.

Minnesota vs. the spread

The Timberwolves are 22-20 vs. the spread this season, and 8-9 against the line as favorites. Minnesota is 5-7 against the spread as home favorites, and 9-12 overall ATS at home on the season. This could be a good spot for a cover for the Wolves vs. a banged up Golden State group.

Final Warriors-Timberwolves Prediction and Pick:

Take the Timberwolves to win and cover in this spot vs. the shorthanded Warriors. Curry and Green are obviously a massive part of everything Golden State does, and Minnesota should be able to take advantage of their absence. Towns and Edwards are both explosive scorers, and could present issues. The Warriors are still a scrappy group without their stars however and if Thompson and/or Poole are able to get hot they can definitely pull off the upset in this spot.

Final Warriors-Timberwolves Prediction & Pick: Timberwolves -4.5 (-106)
