The Chicago Bears will face the Minnesota Vikings in a classic NFC rivalry matchup. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Bears-Vikings prediction and pick.

While both of these teams are officially out of the playoff race, there's still plenty to watch for. This game will help determine if the Bears make a coaching change heading into next season, as current head coach Matt Nagy hasn't lived up to expectations at all.

The Vikings could be joining Chicago in the search for a head coach in the offseason, as Mike Zimmer hasn't led his team to the playoffs since 2019. A win here could help secure Zimmer's job for next season, so there's still plenty to play for.

Why The Bears Could Cover The Spread

The last time these two teams played, Chicago played some awful football and still managed to keep the game within one score. They were plagued with penalties in the red zone, and three lost fumbles didn't do anything to help their cause. All of those shortcomings led to a loss by a touchdown, so it's fair to expect the Bears to clean their act up a bit and play clean football.

Playing clean football in this game shouldn't be all that difficult. Kirk Cousins is back for the Vikings, however, so the Bears may face an uphill battle at a win or a cover on the road in this one.

Why The Vikings Could Cover The Spread

Despite their reputation as a poor defense, the Vikings managed to hold the Bears to nine points in their Week 15 matchup. Penalties and turnovers killed Chicago, but Minnesota also managed to get consistent pressure. The Vikings posted three sacks and seven quarterback hits in that game, numbers that should be replicated here. Chicago has allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL with 51, and Minnesota averages nearly three sacks per game, one of the best numbers in the league. Fields should be under constant siege in this game, which typically leads to poor outings for rookie quarterbacks.

The Bears had the home field advantage in the last matchup, but that's obviously not the case now. The elements certainly played a factor in Minnesota's poor offensive performance in Soldier Field,  but this game will take place in an indoor arena. The wind and the cold won't be an issue here, and the home crowd definitely helps things for the Vikings. Minnesota is 4-3 at home this season compared to a 3-5 road record for the Bears. Playing in US Bank Stadium will be a huge help to the Vikings here.

Final Bears-Vikings Prediction & Pick

It's impossible to trust Minnesota here. The Bears nearly pulled off an upset the last time these teams played, and Chicago played horrible football in that game. The Bears should cover easily against Kirk Cousins and crew.

Final Bears-Vikings Prediction & Pick: Chicago Bears: +5.5 (-110)
