The Cincinnati Bengals will take on the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional Round. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Bengals-Titans prediction and pick.

These teams have both had long, difficult roads to this game. The Bengals came out of nowhere to win the AFC North and beat the Las Vegas Raiders in the wild card round. Now they have a legitimate chance to appear in the AFC Championship behind star quarterback Joe Burrow and an explosive offense.

The Titans can't match Cincinnati's offensive production, but they managed to play their way into the first seed by winning games in a variety of ways. In a season highlighted by wins over the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee played through plenty of adversity. Why The Bengals Could Cover The Spread

Article Continues Below

Cincinnati's success this season revolves around their offense. Joe Burrow has been downright fantastic all season long, and his trio of receivers has been equally impressive. This unit can score on anyone in the league, and they can certainly score on the Titans. Tennessee was a bottom-ten unit against opposing passing games during the regular season, as they gave up 245 yards per game and 6.6 yards per attempt. In the season finale, the Titans allowed Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills to hammer them for 301 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. The Bengals and Burrow will tear this defense apart.

Despite their overall success, the Titans remained one of the most inconsistent teams in the entire NFL. They suffered an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets in the middle of the year and narrowly avoided a Week 18 upset to the Texans. They always seem to start games off on the wrong foot, but their pure talent allows them to make up ground in the second half. That formula won't work in the postseason against any team, and especially not the Bengals. The Bengals have a very real case for being the better team in this matchup, so any misstep from Tennessee will immediately be exploited.

Why The Titans Could Cover The Spread

The last time the Titans played with Derrick Henry on the field was in October. The best running back in the NFL will likely be making his return to the field in this game. The Tennessee offense looks completely different with Henry on the field, so his presence will obviously provide a huge boost against one of the best run defenses in the NFL in Cincinnati.

The Bengals have been just as bad as the Titans at defending the pass. Cincinnati actually ranks just below the Titans in terms of passing yardage allowed, but they allow a higher completion percentage and more yards per attempt. While the Titans may not be as prolific of a passing team as the Bengals, they're still more than capable of exposing bad defenses. Expect Tennessee to find the end zone regularly here.

Final Bengals-Titans Prediction & Pick

This game should be fairly close, but this spread is just too big. The Bengals have a legitimate shot at pulling off an upset win in this game. Tennessee is the worst one-seed in recent memory, and Cincinnati should prove that in this game.

Final Bengals-Titans Prediction & Pick: Cincinnati Bengals +3.5 (-108)
