Why The Saints Could Cover The Spread
New Orleans has been the better overall team this season compared to the Falcons, but lost to them at home earlier in the season with Taysom Hill did not start at QB in favor of Trevor Siemian. Siemian threw for 249 yards and 2 TDs in that matchup on Nov. 7, but Matt Ryan willed the Falcons to win late. Hill has since taken over as the starter, as he and Alvin Kamara will look to lead the Saints to a victory over the Falcons in Week 18. The Saints will be looking for revenge in addition to their playoff goals in this one.

The Saints are 8-8 vs. the spread this season, but have covered in three of their last four games. New Orleans is 3-4 vs. the spread as a favorite this season, and 2-2 as a road favorite.
Why The Falcons Could Cover The Spread
The Falcons have an edge at QB in this one, which is usually the kind of week where they can hang in a game. Atlanta is a bad team, but Matt Ryan, with the help of Cordarrelle Patterson, Kyle Pitts and Russell Gage, has been able to keep the Falcons in a lot of games this season. Their defense has been bad, but a little more scrappy than in years past. AJ Terrell looks like one of the best young corners in the NFL, while the front seven is still very weak as a whole outside of Grady Jarrett. The Falcons have had an improved running game this season over the course of the second half, but they have struggled to protect Ryan vs. teams with good pass rushers like New Orleans.
Atlanta vs. the spread
The Falcons are 6-9-1 vs. the spread this season, but 3-6-1 over there last ten games. The Falcons are 3-6-1 as well with the points this season, and 0-3 vs. the line as home underdogs.
Final Saints-Falcons Prediction & Pick
Take the Saints to cover and win here. They should be able to dominate the Falcons in the trenches on both sides of the ball as Atlanta is not a very physical team at all. especially defensively. If the Falcons' defense is somehow able to hold up, this one could be close but the Saints could still cover in that scenario as well with the spread being sort of on the low side.
Final Saints-Falcons Prediction & Pick: Saints -3.5 (-110)
