The Colorado Buffaloes trailed the Arizona Wildcats by five points at halftime on Feb. 26 in Boulder. They were playing at home, but they had gotten blown out by Arizona State two days earlier. Playing at home was no guarantee of success. The Buffaloes had to come up with something special to impress college basketball odds analysts and change their own Pac-12 Tournament odds.
Does outscoring Arizona by 21 points in the second half count as something special?
Colorado slapped a 47-26 half on Arizona, beating the Wildcats 79-63. The win helped Colorado get a first-round bye in the Pac-12 Tournament. The Buffs used that bye well; they looked fresher and sharper than Oregon in an 80-69 win in the quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon. That gives Colorado another chance to beat Arizona, this time in the pursuit of an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Colorado Arizona odds are different today from what they were expected to be heading into the Pac-12 Tournament, because Arizona guard Kerr Kriisa got injured against Stanford on Thursday and will miss this game. Arizona expects him to be ready for the NCAA Tournament, but it will have to go without Kriisa in this game. Keep that in mind when making a Colorado Arizona prediction.
Arizona was pushed by Stanford in the Pac-12 quarterfinals. This was not the result of Kriisa's injury, either; Kriisa got hurt late in the game when it was already very close. Arizona couldn't get many defensive stops against Stanford. The Cardinal surprised everyone with their offensive performance, enough to get 80 points. Fortunately, Arizona managed to score with Stanford; the Wildcats are equipped to win track meets with their fast pace and balanced scoring. The Cats now will try to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. A win here might put them over the top, given that Auburn probably played its way out of a No. 1 seed with its loss to Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday afternoon. Remember that part of the story when formulating your Colorado Arizona pick.

Why Colorado Could Cover the Spread
The Kerr Kriisa injury is a significant loss for Arizona. Colorado is trying to swipe an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Buffaloes should be able to keep this game close, even though they might not win outright.
Why Arizona Could Cover the Spread
The Wildcats are going to be mad that Kriisa is hurt. They will be even more angry that Colorado made them look bad. Arizona is out for revenge. That will fuel a strong U of A performance and a big win.
Final Colorado-Arizona Prediction & Pick
The Kriisa injury matters more than Arizona's desire for revenge. Arizona wins, but Colorado will take this game down to the final minute and lose by only four points.
Final Colorado-Arizona Pick: Colorado +9.5
