The New York Rangers go on the road to take on the Calgary Flames Tuesday night. This game will continue our NHL odds series as we hand out a Rangers-Flamers prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Rangers have started the season off with a record of 3-2-0. Artemi Panarin leads the team with seven points this season. Three of those points have come via goal. Chris Kreider is the leading scorer for the Rangers as he has netted four goals. Mika Zibanejad leads the team in assists with five. As a team, the Rangers score 3.00 goals per game. In goal, the Rangers allow just 2.40 goals per game.

The Flames are 2-3-1 to begin this season. They won their first game, but they lost four of their next five. Andrew Mangiapane leads the team in goals. He has scored three goals this season, including one in the last game played. Elias Lindholm leads the team in points with six. Four of those have come through assisting on goals.

Igor Shesterkin should be in net for the Rangers. Jacob Markstrom is expected to be in goal for the Flames.

Why The Rangers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Rangers do a fine job scoring the puck. As a team, the Flames give up 3.67 goals per game. That makes it very hard to keep games close. New York has a chance to put up four or five goals, and that would help them cover the spread easily. The Rangers need to be aggressive in the offensive zone and get their shots off. Calgary has their best goalie in net, so it is not going to be an easy task. However, if the Rangers find way to put the puck in the net, they will cover this spread.

The Flames are not a good offensive team. The Rangers need to take advantage of that. Shesterkin allowed just over three goals per game, and three or less will get the job done in this game. The Flames will not score, and the Rangers can put up three or four goals. With that, New York should be able to cover the spread.

Why The Flames Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Flames do not score very well. They average just 2.67 goals per game, so their wins will come from the defensive zone. Luckily, the Flames have their best goalie in net. Jacob Markstrom is the better of the two goalies for the Flames. He is allowing less than three goals per game, and that is going to be huge for the Flames in this game. His save percentage is also over .900. If Markstrom can have a good game, and keep the Rangers scoring down, they will cover the spread.

Final Rangers-Flames Prediction & Pick

This game could be low-scoring. It is hard to predict, that is for sure. With that said, I like this game to stay within a goal. The Flames are the underdogs in this one. For that reason, I will take the Flames to cover this spread at home.

Final Rangers-Flames Prediction & Pick: Flames +1.5 (-245), Under 6.5 (-140)
