Why The Reds Will Cover The Spread/Win
When the Cincinnati Reds play the Arizona Diamondbacks away this Tuesday, all eyes will be on Hunter Greene and Slade Cecconi and a pitching match-up between them. Studying their recent displays and aspects of the team gives a good argument for why the Reds, with Greene at their helm, are in line for victory.

Greene has shown his domination on the mound in his recent outings which includes a seven-inning shutout against the Rangers as well as being nearly scoreless over 5 2/3 innings of one-run baseball. His ability to strike batters out on demand as seen from six strikeouts in his last game and an electric fastball that often hits triple digits makes him tough competition.
On the flip side though, Slade Cecconi who has exhibited promise, had a mediocre start to his MLB journey. He is coming off some poor outings with an ERA of 4.96 including allowing four runs in one game. For instance, his inconsistency plus having a high hard-hit rate from last season would imply that he may struggle against the Reds’ lineup.
With players like Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer who have enough experience and abilities to prey on weaknesses presented by Cecconi, The Reds have good offensive punch to back up Greene’s solid pitching. This game at Chase Field might very well fall in favor of Cincinnati due to Greene’s arm and collective hitting power demonstrated by teammates too much for D-Backs.

The Cincinnati Reds while underwhelming this season boast a lineup that should give trouble to rookie pitcher Slade Cecconi in this matchup at home. As long as Hunter Green can hit his mark and not give up a ton of free passes he can continue his torrid strikeout pace against this subpar Diamondbacks lineup they should come away with the victory on the road.
