Richard Gasquet is almost 38 years old. Winding down his career, Gasquet won his first major-tournament match in two years on Sunday when he defeated Borna Coric in straight sets. Gasquet has one of the most aesthetically pleasing and artistic one-hand backhands in men's tennis. The full, swirling flourish of his strokes has been a memorable part of men's tennis for the past two decades. Why Richard Gasquet Could Cover The Spread
The spread of 8.5 games for this match is not priced, but it is the spread which is most evenly priced for both players on the market. We can say this because, as noted above, the 9.5 and 7.5 prices are somewhat imbalanced. If you can find the +8.5 price for Gasquet, you can reasonably view him as the favorite against the spread simply because he played a really good match against Borna Coric on Sunday. Gasquet looked very solid. His body held up over three sets and he continued to hit his backhand with consistency. If that is the version of the player we are going to see in this match versus Sinner, Gasquet can probably keep it close enough to cover.
Given that Sinner's health is also a question mark, it's another reason to feel confident about Gasquet's prospects here.

Gasquet is old and comparatively slow. Borna Coric looked less than 100-percent fit and did not play well, either. Sinner is not 100-percent fit but is several years younger than Coric. He can run Gasquet around the court and hit the ball a lot harder. This is a mismatch. Sinner should be able to win very comfortably.
