The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians play game two of a three-game set on Saturday evening. The Twins are coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the Yankees, while the Guardians won two of three against the Rangers. It was a good bounce back for the Guardians, as they lost three of four to the lowly White Sox in the previous series. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Twins-Guardians prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

The Minnesota Twins announced that Bailey Ober would get the start in the game. Ober has been good over his last five starts, with the Twins coming out on top in four of five. Ober had a terrible start to the season, allowing eight earned runs in his first start. However, he's been lights out since, allowing two or fewer earned runs in six of seven starts. He is 4-1 with a 3.77 ERA.

There has been no announcement by the Guardians on their starter, but we can gather that Logan Allen is the next in line. The Guardians have lost three of Allen's last four starts, where he allowed 13 earned runs in the losses. Allen bounced back against the White Sox in his previous start, allowing seven base runners and no earned runs over six innings. The lefty's numbers haven't been great this season, with a 5.56 ERA

Why The Twins Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Twins have a favorable matchup against Logan Allen, as he's been finding ways to win games despite a terrible ERA. Minnesota won't do much to help that ERA, as they hit 50 points better against lefties than righties. The Twins bat .272/.314/.411 against left-handed pitching and strike out at a much lower rate. One of Allen's biggest strengths is averaging nearly a strikeout per inning, but the Twins may not allow that to go his way.

The Twins winning this matchup against Allen is crucial, as the Cleveland Bullpen has a 2.44 ERA and a .195 opponent batting average. The Twins should lead at the midway point of the game, but whether or not their bullpen can match up well against the Guardians' bullpen is an issue.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians will win this game due to more clutch bullpen work and timely batting. It will be hard for the Guardians to get a lead due to the Twins' matchup with Allen, but if he can weather the storm and keep the game somewhat close, the Guardians have a chance. The Twins bullpen has a 3.61 ERA and allows double the amount of home runs than the Cleveland bullpen.

Final Twins-Guardians Prediction & Pick

The Twins matchup against Logan Allen is good, but they may not have the offensive firepower to blow the game wide open. If that's the case, Allen will leave the game with a small deficit and allow the bullpen to try and win. Most of Cleveland's best relievers are right-handers, which the Twins hit 50 points lower against than lefties. The only variable that could haunt us is Allen keeping the game close, which he has done to get a victory in five of his nine starts.
