The co-main event of UFC 270 sees the trilogy fight between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo go down in what will most likely be the very last fight between them. So far, they've met three times in less than two years. The UFC flyweights fought to a draw in December 2020 and Brandon Moreno won by submission in June 2021. It's safe to say they know each other very well and the third fight could very well be the most exciting fight between them. The UFC 270 odds are very close. It's time to continue our UFC odds series with a Moreno-Figueiredo prediction and pick.
Brandon Moreno looks to defend his title for the first time after a dominant second fight against Deiveson Figueiredo. Moreno has had a huge career resurgence after previously being cut from the UFC a few years ago. He hasn't lost since 2018 (besides Figueiredo) and has beaten some of the best names in the division. Brandon Moreno truly is one of the best flyweights in the world and he will look to cement his status at UFC 270.
Deiveson Figueiredo has not flown under the radar since he signed with the UFC back in 2017. The Brazilian flyweight has been a force and rose to the top of the division right as legends like Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo were on their way out. Figueiredo has only lost two times in his career with losses coming to Jussier Formiga in 2019 and Moreno back at UFC 263. He'll be looking to get back on track and win back the flyweight title.

How Brandon Moreno wins the fight at UFC 270
Article Continues BelowBrandon Moreno has quite a few ways he can win at UFC 270. The last fight was a dominant showing for the Mexican flyweight but the fight before was all Deiveson Figueiredo at the beginning of the fight, things started to get weird as there was a point deduction and Moreno started to come back. Moreno has some clear advantages with the wrestling, his submission offense, and the numbers show he even lands more strikes to the head. His path to victory most likely lies in testing Figueiredo's cardio in the early rounds and looking to snatch up a submission or dominating the fight late for a decision. Moreno's big advantage lies in his toughness and ability to win the fight in multiple ways. A knockout isn't impossible considering he lands at a high clip. The biggest question will be Figueiredo's weight cut. Moreno dominated the last fight after Figueiredo's rough weight cut. This could be the same situation here but Moreno doesn't need it. A victory from Moreno most likely comes in the form of a late submission or a decision.

How Deiveson Figueiredo wins the fight at UFC 270
Deiveson Figueiredo is going to have to answer a lot of questions at UFC 270. The first one will be about his weight cut, it factors into the fight and many people are planning to cash out depending on how the Brazilian looks on the scales. The second question will be his cardio and then his wrestling. Figueiredo is working with the right people as he has been training with Henry Cejudo. His weight cut appears to be going much better than in the last fight. With those questions out of the way, we can look at his path to victory. The Brazilian flyweight will need to come out strong but also be ready for deep waters. Moreno is tough and is very difficult to put away. Figueiredo will need to stay active and prevent Moreno from taking the fight to the ground and sapping his cardio. Figueiredo's most likely path to victory is with a decision or a potential knockout, although a decision seems the most likely.
Final Moreno-Figueiredo Prediction & Pick
There are a lot of question marks with Deiveson Figueiredo and that makes it very tough to pick him in this fight. Things like cardio, wrestling, and the weight cut make it very risky. He is one of the best flyweights in the division and has all the talent and skills to become a champion. He's done it before. Brandon Moreno just has too many paths to victory and not as many question marks. The co-main event of UFC 270 is going to be close, but all signs point to the champion having what it takes to get the job done. It's not going to be quick, Moreno and his team are prepared for that. Figueiredo winning isn't a very big upset but it's difficult to pick against the champion. The prediction and pick are Brandon Moreno winning by decision after a hard-fought battle that tests both men.
Final Moreno-Figueiredo UFC 270 Pick: Brandon Moreno wins by decision.
