The main card of UFC Vegas 57 features a fun heavyweight clash between Josh Parisian and Alan Baudot. The two heavyweights have been on rough stretches as of late and both have lost to Parker Porter rather recently. There are some high-stakes in this one as the loser could potentially find themselves cut from the UFC with a loss. Parisian is a powerful striker with a point to prove heading into this one. Both men pack big power and like to strike. This sounds like a simple one to predict. Someone's going to sleep. The question is who has the better chin. Looking at it on paper, Josh Parisian has more losses by knockout but he hasn't been completely put out. Alan Baudot has three losses (two technically with one of them being a NC) and he's been put to sleep before. Parisian is the bigger man and he'll be looking to use that muscle to tire out the Frenchman. There's the possibility of clinching against the fence in order to find openings for big punches to land. Parisian has to use his size in this one as it will lead to possibilities for the Frenchman to tire. Baudot has to look for openings early and pressure Parisian in order to land clean shots. Using his movement and keeping things in the center of the cage will be the key. Ultimately this one is down to who can land clean first and capitalize on a hurt opponent. Baudot is the better striker but Parisian appears to be the better fighter. The pick is Parisian to find the knockout in the second round.
