UFC Vegas 92: Edson Barboza vs. Lerone Murphy kicks off the prelims with a fight in the strawweight division between Vanessa Demopoulos and Emily Ducote. Demopoulos has now won three out of her last four fights most recently picking up a unanimous decision victory in her last fight meanwhile, Ducote was able to get back on track in her last fight winning via unanimous decision. Vanessa Demopoulos (10-5) is coming off a highly questionable decision victory against the newly-released Kanako Murata which now gives her wins in four out of her last five fights. She will be looking to extend her winning streak as she looks toward a possible ranked opponent next when she takes on Emily Ducote this weekend at UFC Vegas 92.
Emily Ducote (13-8) came into her UFC career as the Invicta FC strawweight champion battering Jessica Penne's lead leg to a UFC debut victory. She then dropped her next two fights to stiff competitors Angela Hill and Lupita Godinez but she was able to get herself back on track with a unanimous decision victory against Ashley Yoder her last time out. Ducote will be looking to get on her first winning streak inside the Octagon when she takes on Vanessa Demopoulos this weekend at the UFC Apex.

Why Vanessa Demopoulos Will Win
Vanessa Demopoulos is coming off a closely contested split decision victory against Kanako Murata in her most recent fight which has now given her wins in four wins in her last five fights. She has defied the odds time and time again and she will be looking to do the same again this weekend when she takes on Emily Ducote this weekend at UFC Vegas 92.

Vanessa Demopoulos is a ball of fury and is as tough as they come in the strawweight division. She is certainly not the biggest or physically imposing fighter but she makes up for that with her grit and tenacity. Demopoulos also has a sneaky good submission game as well which got her a shot on the Contender Series when she captured the LFA strawweight championship via an inverted triangle choke against Sam Hughes. In this matchup against Ducote, she will be a bit outmatched on the feet but if she's able to keep the striking relatively close close the gap, and drag Ducote to the mat she could dominate from there even potentially getting another submission and scoring the upset.
Why Emily Ducote Will Win
Emily Ducote got her shot in the UFC after she captured the Invicta FC Strawweight Championship by finishing Alesha Zappitella. From there she battered Jessica Penne in her UFC debut looking like she had a ton of promise coming into her UFC career only to drop her next two fights to Angela Hill and Lupita Godinez. Ducote was however able to get back on track with a dominant performance against Ashley Yoder and now will be looking to finally get on her winning streak inside the Octagon when she takes on Vanessa Demopoulos this weekend at the UFC Apex.
Emily Ducote does her best work on the feet where she's mixed in her leg kicks along with her head strikes much like she did against Jessica Penne in her UFC debut. She is going to give Demopoulos a ton of trouble on the feet at distance because of her speed, her movement, and her activity. As long as Ducote can avoid getting taken down or dragged to the mat by Demopoulos she should be able to outstrike her throughout the fight and win her second consecutive fight.

The UFC kicks off this fight night event with a strawweight bout between two surging fighters Vanessa Demopoulos and Emily Ducote. Demopoulos will be looking to continue her winning ways in hopes of getting a ranked opponent next meanwhile, Ducote is looking to get on her first winning streak in the UFC and start to climb up the strawweight rankings. Ultimately, Demopoulos seems to be outmatched, as she normally does, in this matchup against Ducote and Ducote will be able to strike circles around Demopoulos as long as her takedown defense is up to the task she should run away with this fight and get the nod on the judge's scorecards.
