Why The White Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win

The White Sox have Fedde on the bump, and he has been very good for them. Fedde is 4-0 this season with a 2.60 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and just 41 hits allowed in 52 innings pitched. The White Sox need Fedde to continue pitching well if they want to win. Fedde is coming off back-to-back starts in which he allowed no runs and went at least six innings. If he can have another start like this, the White Sox are going to win this game.

The Blue Jays are not the best offense, so Fedde should be able to have another good game. Toronto has a bottom-10 batting average in the MLB, a bottom-10 slugging percentage, and they have the lowest average exit velocity. As long as Fedde continues to pitch the way he has been, the White Sox are going to win this game.

Why The Blue Jays Will Cover The Spread/Win

Jose Berrios is on the mound for the Blue Jays, and he has been a front runner for AL Cy Young. Berrios has a 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and opponents are batting just .212 off him this season. In his nine starts this season, Berrios has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of them. The righty has been having Cy Young season, and there is no reason that should not continue in this one. Expect Berrios to have another quality start, and do not be surprised if he goes deep into this game.

Chicago is one of the worst offenses in the MLB. In fact, the White Sox are last in batting average, OPS, wOBA, and they have the second-worst hard hit percentage. Chicago is also a ground ball hitting team, and that will play right into Berrios' strengths. The White Sox are not hitting the ball well, and it is a huge reason for their league-worst record. Berrios should be able to have a good start against the White Sox, and lead the Blue Jays to a win.

Final White Sox-Blue Jays Prediction & Pick

I would expect this game to be low-scoring. Both offenses are really struggling this season, and the pitchers are throwing the ball extremely well. I definitely like the under to hit in this game, but that is not going to be my bet. I will be taking the Blue Jays moneyline. Berrios has had one bad start with eight very good ones. I think this is going to be a very good start for Berrios. The Blue Jays moneyline is my pick here.
