Why The White Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win
The reason the White Sox have a chance in this game is because the Cubs have been very bad lately. They have won just two of their last 10 games, and they are 11-19 since May 1st. The reason they have been so bad is their offense. In that same time span, the Cubs are batting just .217 with a .652 OPS, and they have struck out 265 times. That comes out to 8.83 strikeouts per game. The Northsiders have some stuff to figure out at the plate, and they have yet to do it. Flexen needs to take advantage of this.
Flexen should also have confidence because of the Cubs overall stats on the season at the plate. The Cubs are in the bottom-10 in batting average, slugging percentage, hard hit percentage, whiff percentage, zone contact percentage, and they have gotten under the ball 28.1 percent of the time this season (highest in the MLB). The Cubs are not a good hitting team at the moment, and the pitching can only hold up for so long. If the Cubs continue to be bad, the White Sox have a chance to win this game.
Why The Cubs Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Cubs have their best pitcher on the mound for this game. Imanaga had a rough outing in his last start, but he still owns an ERA below 2.00, and his WHIP is exactly 1.00. Along with that, Imanaga has allowed just 48 hits in 58 innings pitched. He should be able to get back on the right track in this game. The White Sox are the worst team in the MLB, so as long as Imanaga can shake off his last outing, the Cubs are going to win this game with ease.
The White Sox, as mentioned, are the worst team in the MLB. They are 15-45, and they have lost their last 11 games. The White Sox, offensively, rank last in batting average, last in OPS, last in home runs, and last in wOBA. The Southsiders also have the second-fewest walks, so they are a free-swinging team. Imanaga and the Cubs pitching staff should be able to take advantage of this. With the White Sox struggling, the Cubs have a chance to get back above .500 in this series.

The White Sox are just not a good team this year. The Cubs are not play well, either, but I can not trust the White Sox to win. The Cubs will also have an ace on the mound, and I expect Imanaga to dominate. I will take the Cubs to cover the spread Tuesday night.
