Why The White Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win
The White Sox have been a disaster this season and it doesn't look like it's going to be letting up anytime soon. Regardless of the White Sox are still going to go out there to battle it out on the road in Toronto to take down the Blue Jays in this Wednesday night matchup.
The White Sox will send Mike Clevinger (0-2, 5.56 ERA) to the mound as he searches for his first victory of the season in this Wednesday night matchup. In his first start of the season, Clevinger lasted just 2 innings where he gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks with no strikeouts. However, Clevinger was able to bounce back over his last two outings allowing 4 runs on 9 hits and 10 strikeouts in 9.1 innings. He's also had some success over the years against the Blue Jays where Bo Bichette, Justin Turner, and Daulton Varsho are a combined 2-20.

Luckily for them they were able to end the series on a high note when Blue Jays' starting pitcher Alek Manoah pitched a gem holding the Rays to just 1 run through 7 innings while striking out 7.
The Blue Jays then were able to take Game 1 in this matchup with the White Sox on the back of a great pitching performance from Jose Berrios who went 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out 6. The Blue Jays also had one of the better performances at the plate scoring 9 runs on 12 hits with 2 of those hits being home runs. Now, the Blue Jays will send Chris Bassitt (3-6, 5.03 ERA) to the mound to battle it out with Mike Clevinger.
Bassitt has had an up-and-down season so far where he has losses in four out of his last five games. He has been solid over his last two games however giving up 5 runs on 8 hits with 11 strikeouts in 14 innings. He presents a good matchup on Wednesday night taking on the White Sox who he's had some success against in the past. Andrew Vaughn, Paul Dejong, and Corey Julks are a combined 2-15 as they struggle against Bassitt.
