The Dallas Wings take on the Atlanta Dream. Our WNBA odds series has our Wings Dream prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Wings Dream.

The WNBA schedule is one week into the regular season. A few teams haven't yet played their home openers. One is the Atlanta Dream, who finally get to play on their own floor on Tuesday. Atlanta started the season with a multi-game Western trip to Los Angeles and then Phoenix. The Dream split with the Sparks and Mercury. Atlanta played high-scoring games in both instances, winning 92-81 in L.A. and losing 88-85 in Phoenix. You might notice, if you are interested in betting on total points, that each of the Dream's first two games produced exactly 173 points. We will see if the Dream can maintain offensive production while improving their defense.

Dallas, like Atlanta, is 1-1 through two games. Both teams have not played that often. Some WNBA teams have already played four games through one week of the schedule, but these teams have played only twice. Their most recent games were on Saturday, May 18. Dallas hasn't even played a second team in the league this season. Each of its first two games were against the same opponent, the Chicago Sky, and both games were at home in Texas. Dallas won the first game a week ago and then lost on Saturday in the rematch. Now we'll see the Wings play their first road game of the regular season against a different opponent.

Why The Wings Could Cover The Spread

The WNBA season is very young, so you don't want to make a far-reaching conclusion after seeing a team play just two games. However, if there is a clear pattern to be found in the Atlanta Dream's first two games, it is an obvious one: This team has work to do at the defensive end of the floor. The Dream are allowing over 84 points per game. If the Dream allow 84 points in this game as a 5.5-point favorite, that means Atlanta will need to score at least 90 points to cover the spread. That puts Atlanta in a box and gives the Dream comparatively less margin for error. Dallas, as long as it can score consistently, could play an ordinary (not terrible, but average) defensive game and still cover the spread quite comfortably.

Why The Dream Could Cover The Spread

The Dream might be the slightly more underrated team in this matchup coming out of their first two games. Their 11-point win over the Sparks looks better in light of Los Angeles giving the champion Las Vegas Aces a tough battle on Saturday. The Sparks were down only four points late in the fourth quarter before losing by only seven to the champs. The Sparks might be better than anticipated this season. Atlanta's loss to the Mercury doesn't look as bad, given that Phoenix also pushed the Aces before losing to Vegas by only nine points in another competitive game. If Atlanta's first two opponents are better than expected, the Dream might be better than the Wings by a surprisingly large margin.

Final Wings-Dream Prediction & Pick

This is a game to sit back and observe. We really don't know too much about these teams. They are mysterious, and you don't want to bet on mysteries. You want to know that one team is clearly in better position to win. You can't really say that about this game. Pass.
