Despite being 38 years young, Metta World Peace's competitive spirit has not aged one bit. So much so that he blatantly refused to obey the orders coming from his coach, Charles Oakley, when asked to sub out of a ballgame.

The incident occurred Friday night in the BIG3 matchup of Metta's Killer 3's and spirited side Power, which was led by ex-NBA veterans Glen Davis and Corey Magette. At one point in the second half, Killer 3's head coach in Oakley wanted to take World Peace out of the ballgame. However, Metta was not yet ready to sit down on the bench and was having none of it.

The standoff lasted for a good 30 seconds, as neither World Peace nor Oakley was willing to back down.

World Peace eventually came to his senses and succumbed to his coach's demands. Oakley was visibly upset and stared down World Peace as he walked towards the bench. The 54-year-old did establish quite a reputation himself during his playing days and is definitely not one to back away from a fight.

Luckily, the mini-altercation no longer escalated, as World Peace eventually headed to the bench; but not before he could retaliate with some verbal jabs himself.

To be fair to World Peace, he was the team's best player on the court that evening. The Killer 3's were absolutely demolished by Power, with a final score of 50-28.

World Peace top-scored for his side with nine points, while also chipping in three rebounds and two blocks. With the loss, Killer 3's sit at fifth place in the league with a 2-4 record.
