Most media members and fans alike seem to believe the Buffalo Bills will win the AFC East next season. Jim Kelly — the former legendary quarterback of the Bills — shares the same sentiment, vowing that Buffalo is the ‘team to beat' in the AFC East.

While making an appearance on The Zach Gelb Show, Kelly spoke about the Bills' chances of winning the division in 2020:

“If they don’t, then something’s wrong. I mean, Tom Brady is not there to block you anymore. So that, to me, is huge,” Kelly said. “I think Tom of course is getting older, getting old, but he still can play. I tried to talk him into retirement like two, three years ago, but he just wouldn’t listen to me. I don’t know why. But now that Brady’s gone, I definitely do think the Bills are the team to beat, even though you look at the Jets, they’re getting better. Miami with Tua (Tagovailoa) coming in, I think they’re going to be better. And of course, (Bill) Belichick will have his team ready to play. So we’ll see what happens at the quarterback position in New England.”

Early in free agency, the Bills were able to acquire Stefon Diggs via trade from the Minnesota Vikings. At the same time, the New England Patriots will have a quarterback not named Tom Brady leading the offense.

Just last season, Buffalo finished with a 10-6 record, which was second in the AFC East. In addition, they advanced to the postseason for the second time in the past three seasons. Despite the Bills failing to win a playoff game since 1995 — when Kelly was under center — the Hall of Fame quarterback believes Buffalo should sit atop the division in 2020.
