The Buffalo Bills have activated cornerback Josh Norman from the injured reserve list and is eligible to play Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, the team announced, via The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia.

Injured in training camp following a pick-six of quarterback Josh Allen, Norman has missed the first three games of the Bills' season due to a hamstring issue.

Selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Coastal Carolina product eventually became the highest-paid corner in the league, signing a five-year $75 million deal with the Washington Football Team in 2016.

Released in February by Washington following a drop in production during 2019, Norman signed with the Bills during training camp, though has yet to suit up for the surprising AFC East division leaders.

To accommodate the ninth-year corner's move to the active roster, Buffalo also released cornerback Cam Lewis from the team to ensure they comply with the 53-man roster rules. Lewis had previously been on the Bills practice squad, though he mostly saw action on special-teams sequences.

Though the Bills have experienced success thus far, there remains ample concern over their pass defense with the team ranking an abysmal 28th in passing yards allowed—showcased by their performance last week against the Los Angeles Rams, in which they gave up 29 points in the second half alone.

Playing opposite Pro Bowl cornerback Tre'Davious White, Buffalo is not necessarily hoping for the return of Norman's All-Pro days—though that would certainly be welcome—but rather that the veteran is able to stabilize a position that has seen a rotating cast of players in his absence.
