The Buffalo Bills have placed running back Marcus Murphy on the injured reserve list and have signed wide receiver Victor Bolden, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Murphy left the Bills' win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon due to a dislocated elbow. He carried the ball 11 times for 35 yards before exiting.

On the year overall, Murphy has totaled 250 yards while averaging 4.8 yards per carry.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Missouri, was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round (230th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in 13 games with the Saints during his rookie campaign in a special teams role, returning 28 punts for 261 yards and a touchdown and taking back 12 kickoffs for 300 yards.

The DeSoto, Texas native spent the first two years of his career in New Orleans and then bounced around between the practice squads of the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts before arriving in Buffalo in November 2017.

Murphy was promoted to the Bills' roster last December and ended up carrying the ball seven times for 41 yards in one game.

The Bills are about to end a very disappointing season in which they currently own a record of 5-9, one year after making the playoffs for the first time since the 1999-00 campaign and sending the city of Buffalo into a frenzy.

The 2017-18 playoff appearance broke the longest postseason drought in the league.

The Bills will head on the road to take on the New England Patriots next week before finishing their season at home against the Miami Dolphins.
