Buffalo Bills star Tre'Davious White is undoubtedly one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL today. There's a reason why he was named a First-Team All-Pro in only his third season. At the same time, former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson was a top-tier wideout in the NFL for a whole decade.
Those two worlds collided when the two players clashed on Twitter on Friday.
In a now-deleted tweet, White replied to an old highlight video of Johnson torching opposing corners posted by the former Bengals star himself. White quoted the tweet with “That would've been easy work Ocho!!! I want smoke”
Always one to talk trash and never settle, Johnson quickly replied to the Bills CB with a retort, challenging the All-Pro corner to match up with him one on one.
“I'll fly to you tomorrow for 1 on 1's. I'll show you the true meaning of social distancing, no hat,” Chad Johnson said.
White then responded telling Johnson he would DM his address, but it is unclear whether the the Bills youngster and the retired NFL wideout are actually serious about the matchup. Considering White deleted his tweets, it appears probably not.
While Chad Johnson retired in 2011, the six-time Pro Bowler recorded seven 1,000-yard seasons in eight years from 2002 until 2009. Moreover, despite being out of the NFL for quite some time, he has managed to stay in great shape at age 42.
For Tre'Davious White, he recorded 58 tackles, 17 passes defended, a league-high six interceptions, four tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles in 2019, all while leading a Bills defense that ranked third in the NFL in terms of passing yards allowed per game.
