The Buffalo Bills went out and acquired Stefon Diggs in a blockbuster trade earlier this offseason. Despite the unusual circumstances of the offseason, Buffalo fans got a first look at Josh Allen throwing to Diggs on Saturday night.

It appeared that the reason Diggs requested a trade from the Minnesota Vikings was due to his fractured relationship with Kirk Cousins. Therefore, it should be a welcomed sight for Bills fans to see Allen and Diggs already working together.

Just this past season, Allen took a step forward in his development as a quarterback in his second year in Buffalo. Following a dismal rookie season, Allen threw for 3,089 yards, 20 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 2019.

In addition, he also contributed 510 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. For him to take another step forward, he'll need to improve upon his career 56.3 completion percentage. Now, with a receiving corps of Diggs, John Brown, and Cole Beasley, there aren't any excuses for the former No. 7 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

As for Diggs, he has cemented himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL. While he saw the second-fewest targets in his career a season ago, Diggs hauled in 63 passes for a career-high 1,130 yards and six scores.

With Tom Brady no longer starting for the New England Patriots, the Bills have emerged as favorites to secure the AFC East crown in 2020. The connection between Allen and Diggs will definitely be vital to making sure Buffalo lives up to the expectations they've received.

If you're a fan of the Bills, seeing Allen and Diggs working out together should incite excitement for the upcoming season.
