The story surrounding the Portland Trail Blazers has been Damian Lillard and Chauncey  Billups, and rightfully so. However, Zach Collins was hit with yet another devastating injury blow as he awaits free agency over the summer, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Just unfortunate luck for Collins who has been ravaged by injuries over and over again. He is set to hit the open market and likely would have commanded a decent-sized contract. With the re-fracturing of his foot, it is up in the air as far as his free agency suitors.

When healthy, Collins is a force. The problem is he is rarely healthy. He played just 19 games the season before and didn't appear in any games this past season. He was the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and just could never find a way to stay on the court, unfortunately.

Collins was meant to be a key cog on the Blazers, but with the emergence of Jusuf Nurkic and Collins' injury concerns, his time with Portland could be coming to an end.

This NBA free agency season will be interesting, and this injury could result in a minimum contract for Collins and the Blazers searching for another big man off the bench.
