The Portland Trail Blazers is the latest team to try and revive Carmelo Anthony’s NBA career, as the two parties have reportedly agreed on a non-guaranteed deal on Thursday. The 10-time All-Star and former scoring champion last played in an official NBA game in November last year. The high-scoring forward will team up with one – if not the – best scoring backcourt in the league right now in Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

Shortly after news broke out of Anthony’s move to Oregon, his new teammate McCollum dug up an old tweet two years ago, where he claimed his desire for Portland to sign the 35-year-old Syracuse product.

In terms of overall fit, fans and pundits alike have pegged the Blazers as one of the best possible destinations for Anthony, ever since he was waived by the Bulls in February, after being traded by the Rockets the month prior.

The Terry Stotts mentored team has always been in need of depth at the 3 and 4 positions, leaving many to wonder why it took so long for them to pick up Melo.

Portland is currently below .500 sporting a 4-8 record and is ranked 13th in the Western Conference after losing its last two games.

Lillard and McCollum produce a combined 50-points per game, but the team has received inconsistent production from offseason acquisition Hassan Whiteside. Anthony's ability to score in bunches will indeed be a welcomed sight in Oregon.

Anthony will even likely get his wish of getting extended minutes with the Blazers, as starting power forward Zach Collins is expected to be out for a considerable time after undergoing shoulder surgery.
