Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum believes the Golden State Warriors' playoff experience ultimately proved to be the difference in the 2019 Western Conference Finals.

The Blazers got swept by the Warriors, but Games 2-4 were pretty close. In fact, the Blazers had double-digit leads in Games 2-4, but weren't able to hold onto the lead.

As we all know, the Warriors can erase a double-digit lead in two minutes with the way Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson shoot the ball and Draymond Green plays defense and pushes the pace on offense. McCollum says the Warriors went on their scoring runs at the perfect time and the Blazers weren't able to respond.

McCollum averaged 22.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the four-game sweep. He shot 39.3 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and just 64.7 percent from the free-throw line. It was pretty evident the Blazers were tired from the previous series. Portland and the Denver Nuggets went to seven games and played a four overtime game as well.

The Blazers should hold their heads high. It was a successful season given everything that happened in 2018-19. From owner Paul Allen passing away before the season started to big man Jusuf Nurkic suffering a gruesome leg injury, the Blazers responded well to adversity all season.
