The Portland Trail Blazers have been without CJ McCollum for an extended period of time, but he's making significant progress toward his return.

While the Blazers continue to survive without him, McCollum is out of his walking boot and is set to be re-evaluated on Tuesday, per Jason Quick of The Athletic.

CJ McCollum has been out of Portland's lineup since January 16 when he suffered an injury to his left foot against the Atlanta Hawks. The veteran shooting guard was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his left foot, forcing him to be sidelined for weeks.

Before McCollum went down with a foot injury, he was contributing a career-high 26.7 points and 5.0 assists per game. He was also recording a career-best 1.3 steals per contest while shooting a career-high 44.1 percent from beyond the arc for the Blazers.

Amid his lengthy absence, the  Blazers have relied on Rodney Hood, Anfernee Simons, Gary Trent Jr. and Carmelo Anthony to supply more on offense. Of course, they've leaned on Damian Lillard even more as McCollum battles his way back from injury.

This past week, McCollum was seen doing some work on the basketball court for the first time since his injury. But seeing that Portland has won six out of their last seven games, including the current four-game winning streak they are on, they are likely going to take a cautious approach with their veteran guard.

The good news for the Blazers is that McCollum is progressing toward being able to return to the lineup. However, it is unknown what the exact timetable for McCollum to return is going to be.
