Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has long been known as a prolific shooter from beyond the arc, but his latest achievement has him joining the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

According to a report from Justin Kubatko of StatMuse, Lillard is now the third-fastest player in NBA history to knock down 1,500 threes, just behind Curry and Thompson.

Lillard's 1,500th three came during Sunday night's 115-108 victory over the Denver Nuggets. In 38 minutes of action, the former No. 6 overall pick racked up 30 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field (5-of-11 from downtown), six rebounds and five assists.

With his first 3-pointer, Lillard passed his franchise record of 229 3s set in the 2015-16 season. With his second, he reached 1,500 for his career. Lillard has scored 2,047 points so far this season, a new career high. He ranks fourth on the Blazers' single season list.

During his post-game media availability, Lillard noted that it was nice to have CJ McCollum back in the rotation. McCollum had missed the previous 10 games with a left knee injury. The Blazers went 8-2 without him.

“To get him back and the way we played when he was out, a lot of guys had to step up and do a little bit more,” Lillard told ESPN, referring to McCollum. “I think the fact that it went well, it gave a lot of guys more confidence. It gave us other guys we can turn to when we do get to the postseason.”

Lillard and the Blazers will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to Los Angeles for a matchup against the Lakers. Tip-off inside the STAPLES Center is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
