After a narrow loss to the San Antonio Spurs last night, the Portland Trail Blazers (16-15) have ruled out star point guard Damian Lillard for Friday night's contest against the Denver Nuggets.

According to a tweet on Thursday from the Blazers' beat reporter Casey Holdahl, Lillard will be inactive because of a hamstring strain and might have to miss Portland's Saturday night contest against the Los Angeles Lakers as well.

Lillard, who is easily one of the most dynamic guards in the league, will be direly missed by the Blazers if he has to miss extended time because of his hamstring injury.

In 31 starts so far this season for the Blazers, Damian Lillard continues to be a force to be reckoned with alongside star shooting guard C.J. McCollum. Without a single missed game this year, Lillard currently is averaging a team-high 25.2 points, 6.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.03 steals in roughly 37.1 minutes of action per contest.

The Blazers have been hot as of late. Following a five-game losing streak, they promptly won their next three games on the road. However, Portland has managed to drop their last two contest by a combined three points. Who is going to step up for Lillard during his absence? Hopefully, he won't miss more than one or two games, because Portland obviously can't afford to lose a player of his caliber.
