It’s no secret that Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard, A.K.A. Dame Dolla, has a passion for rapping, and even released his first album almost a year ago. Now in the offseason, he has been recording more songs and recently dropped his latest track with the title, “No Worries.”

The song features two other artists, Danny From Sobrante and Brookfield Deuce. It once again proves that he is very talented on and off the court, and that the track could also be a hit. His latest release discusses living life to the fullest regardless of what others have to say.

The cover art is noticeably familiar as it’s a photo of one of Disney’s most familiar cartoon characters, Pumbaa from the Lion King. Isaiah De los Santos of FanSided gives its relevance to the song in the latest piece he made.

“The cover art for the single is a picture of Pumbaa from Disney’s The Lion King.”

“Of course, in the popular children’s movie, the character sings “Hakuna Matata” with Timon. “Hakuna Matata” translates to “no worries.”

This offseason, the 26-year-old Weber State product has been active on his social media accounts, getting into some interesting exchanges with some fans, and even tried to recruit Carmelo Anthony to join the Blazers earlier in the summer. Now, the release of his new song shows that he has been active as well inside the music studio, recording some tracks that could be part of his next album. His first one, “The Letter O” was a success, as it even peaked at number 119 on the U.S. Billboard charts, despite not being a full time artist.

“No worries” also has a catchy beat to it that could make it a popular choice for rap fans to download online. It remains to be seen if it will be as successful, or even surpass the number of purchases his previous tracks had. Whatever may be the case, Dame Dolla has once again showcased his talent in singing, and will further strengthen his case as the best rapper in the NBA today.
