Ever since LeBron James won the fourth title of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, the GOAT debate between himself and the one and only Michael Jordan has been raging on. Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard himself could not help but to jump in on the back-and-forth, with the five-time All-Star providing his thoughts on why he believes MJ's athleticism is at a different level as compared to that of LeBron.

Lillard took to Twitter to share his point-of-view:

It does not appear like Lillard is taking sides here. It seems that he is just presenting a valid point about how one cannot discount Jordan's athleticism in all this. That does not necessarily mean that he considers MJ to be the GOAT. As a matter of fact, it would not be surprising if Lillard actually has a different name in mind other than MJ or LeBron.

For what it's worth, Lillard just recently had a first-hand experience of having to match up against James on the basketball court. Lillard's Blazers impressively secured the eighth seed in the West after a furious run during the bubble seeding games. This resulted in a first-round matchup against the top-seeded Lakers.

Portland won the first game in that series, which led many to believe that they could actually upset the mighty Lakers. LeBron had other ideas, though, as he led L.A. to a gentleman's sweep against Lillard and Co., eliminating them in five games.

Now as to what type of effect — if any — that encounter had on Lillard's GOAT thoughts on LeBron is something that only he knows.
