The Toronto Blue Jays made it back to the playoffs in the 2022 season. Despite the brutal way they lost in the Wild Card round, it was a step in the right direction. Now, they have another huge offseason ahead of them.

Toronto has plenty of talent on its roster, especially behind the plate. One move they are expected to make this offseason is trading away one of their many good catchers.

“The Blue Jays are expected to trade a catcher this offseason, according to multiple rival execs I’ve spoken with at the GM Meetings. The Jays have an abundance of talent at the position: Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk and Gabriel Moreno,” writes MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

The Blue Jays have three very good options at the catcher spot. Kirk is coming off of an All-Star campaign. He posted a .786 OPS with 14 home runs. Moreno, in addition to hitting a ball into the outfield wall, showed some potential at the major league level this season with a .733 OPS in 25 games. Jansen posted a .855 OPS and 15 home runs in 72 games.

Many teams, such as the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox, could look to acquire one of the Blue Jays' catchers. Jansen seems like the most likely guy to get traded since he is the oldest. Moreno just made his debut last season and Kirk is still just 24 years old. Unless they can land another star, the Jays will likely rotate them between catcher and designated hitter.
