On Wednesday came some unfortunate news regarding legendary Florida State Seminoles football coach Bobby Bowden. It was announced that Bowden has been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition at the age of 91, according to David Cobb CBS Sports.

Bowden stated the Tallahassee Democrat, who initially broke the story of Bowden's illness. As it turns out, it appears that Bowden is in good spirits despite the unfortunate news of the illness.

“I've always tried to serve God's purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come. My wife Ann and our family have been life's greatest blessing…I am at peace.”

The legendary coach seems content with where he is after a long, successful career that includes two national titles for the Seminoles. Bowden still lives in Tallahassee as well.

Just devastating news for a Seminoles legend who will be remembered around Florida State for decades and decades. His resume with the Seminoles began in 191976-2009 and won more than 300 games in his tenure while securing a pair of titles in the 1990s.

Bobby Bowden turns 92 in November and will live forever in college football coaching lore as one of the greatest to ever do it.
