The Sacramento Kings finally decided to bring Serbian guard Bogdan Bogdanovic to the US. After a successful European career in which Bogdanovic won four titles in Serbia with Partizan and an Euroleague championship with Fenerbahce, this sharpshooter finally decided to make a big move across the pond.

After he was selected with the 27th selection in the 2014 NBA Draft by Phoenix, the rights to Bogdanovic were traded in 2016 to Sacramento. Kings decided to keep Bogdanovic stashed in Turkey for one more year, before signing a three-year, $27 million deal.

According to David Pick, this is the biggest contract signed by a rookie in NBA history. For comparison, the first selection from the 2017 NBA Draft, Markelle Fultz, is going to earn “just” $5.8 million, around $3 million less than Bogdanovic.

Other than his club honors, Bogdanovic has done a lot for the Serbian national team as well. He represented the senior team on three big tournaments. Bogdanovic was part of the Serbian roster for Eurobasket's 2013 and 2015, the World Cup 2014 and at the Rio Olympics, winning two silver medals.

His biggest strength is his shooting, as he can be lights out from behind the arc. In his last Euroleague season for Fenerbahce, he averaged 14.6 points per game on 43 percent success rate from downtown. There will probably be a short adjustment period to the NBA three, since the line in Europe is a few inches closer than in the US.
