Although UFC president Dana White has urged Kamaru Usman not to step in the ring with the world's best pound-for-pound boxer Canelo Alvarez, Usman isn't hearing any of it.
Usman recently spoke to TMZ Sports and made it very clear that he wants to fight the Mexican and even believes he could beat him:
“I've already said the name that interests me. Canelo. That's what interests me.”
“If I don't believe in myself, then why would I do it? Of course, I believe in myself. He's amazing. He's amazing. I'm not taking anything away from him. But, how often does someone get to test themselves against the best,” Kamaru Usman said.
“That's Dana, but I'm fighting. Dana's boss man, but I'm the one who's fighting,” Usman said.

Of course, Canelo is the undisputed super middleweight champion and an absolute monster in the ring. Usman meanwhile is the welterweight champ after beating Colby Covington a couple of weeks ago.
Alvarez didn't exactly shut the door on a potential bout with Kamaru Usman when asked about it prior to the Plant fight but made it clear that he's strictly focused on solidifying himself as one of the best to ever do it in the sport.
Usman is the top pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC as well. While a paycheck would certainly be huge for both guys, this would definitely be entertaining. I'm not sure if the Kamaru Usman would win, though. We're talking about Canelo Alvarez after all.
