There is an ongoing lockout in the MLB, but baseball grabbed headlines Monday night when it was revealed that the MLB Network decided to let go of veteran reporter Ken Rosenthal. It was something that got plenty of buzz on social media, many of which blame commissioner Rob Manfred as the primary reason why Rosenthal got the boot from the league's official media outlet. Among those who voiced their strong feelings towards Manfred is Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Tyler Matzek.

Here's what Matzek had to say about the Ken Rosenthal situation, via his official Twitter account.

@Ken_Rosenthal stands at 5’4 1/2” but still towers over Rob Manfred. Fire one of the premier reporters in baseball because he critiques you? That’s his job. #soft #rentfree #doinglaps

The Braves pitcher clearly did not hold anything back there. Like many others, Matzek believes that Manfred caused Rosenthal's firing from the MLB Network, mainly due to the reporter's critical The Athletic piece of the commissioner's handling of the league during the pandemic.

It's also worth noting that while Rosenthal is no longer an employee of the MLB Network, he continues to be part of The Athletic and FOX Sports, so he should remain very visible for baseball fans, especially once the league ends the lockout — whenever that might be.
