Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. gave his team the early advantage after hitting a leadoff homer in Game 1 of Atlanta's NLDS showdown with the Miami Marlins.

It was not long before the Marlins sought retribution.

Acuna has always been one to play with a little flair, and he watched his home run ball for a good while before trotting around the bases:

The Marlins clearly took exception, as Miami starter Sandy Alcantara plunked Acuna on the hip in his next at-bat:

This is just the latest of a string of events between Acuna and the Marlins.

Acuna was drilled by Marlins starter Jose Urena in August 2018 in an incident that caused benches to clear and made waves around the league.

One year later, Acuna would get his retribution. He homered off Urena, celebrating with a big bat flip as he jogged down the line.

But the apparent animosity was not yet finished, as the Braves star was plunked in a game against the Marlins later that year.

Jayson Stark of The Athletic had an interesting tidbit on the dynamic between Acuna and the Marlins:

Braves manager Brian Snitker was peeved after the latest HBP, which only seems fair considering intentionally hitting someone is potentially dangerous.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any sort of retaliation from the Braves, in this game or later in the series.
