The Indianapolis Colts will be without Jacoby Brissett when they take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. With Brissett sidelined with a knee injury, Brian Hoyer will get the start for the Colts at quarterback.

Last week, Hoyer was forced to replace Brissett after the team's starting quarterback sustained a knee injury. The veteran backup quarterback ended up completing 17 of his 26 attempts for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Unfortunately, Hoyer's lone interception to Minkah Fitzpatrick for a pick-six ended up deciding the game. Luckily for Hoyer, he will get a chance to redeem himself on Sunday versus the Dolphins.

The Dolphins secured their first win of the season in Week 9 after defeating the New York Jets. Even without Brissett under center, Indianapolis should still be able to beat Miami.

While the Colts are favored, Hoyer is still going to have to play well for Indianapolis to get back into the win column. In light of that, here are three bold predictions for Hoyer against the Dolphins in Week 10.

3. Hoyer will avoid turning the ball over

Throughout his entire career, one of the glaring issues with Hoyer is his decision making. Altogether, Hoyer has thrown 51 touchdowns while turning it over 49 times in his 11-year career.

Even last week, Hoyer threw a crucial pick-six against the Steelers that essentially lost the game for the Colts. As for this week, Hoyer will protect the football against a Dolphins team that's only forced four takeaways all season (fewest in the NFL).

In Hoyer's 36 career starts, he's avoided turning the ball over in only 19 of them.

2. Hoyer will throw three touchdowns

Due to having Hoyer as the starting quarterback, the Colts will likely choose to rely on their rushing attack. With that being said, the 34-year-old quarterback will still have plenty of opportunities to throw touchdowns.

Hoyer hasn't started in an NFL game since he was with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. In the last full game that he played in, Hoyer aired it out for 353 yards and two touchdowns against his current team.

On Sunday, Hoyer will throw three touchdowns for the second consecutive week. It would only be the second time that he's had two straight games of having three or more touchdowns.

1. Hoyer will throw for 300 yards

Again, it has been nearly two years since Hoyer has been able to call himself a starting quarterback in the NFL. Therefore, it remains to be seen if he is able to be a capable starter for the Colts on Sunday.

The Dolphins come into this game with the 20th ranked pass defense in the NFL, allowing 251.6 yards per game. Given that, Hoyer will have a career day and throw for over 300 yards against a decimated Miami secondary.

The journeyman quarterback only has 11 games in his career where he has surpassed 300 yards through the air.
