On Sunday, players from around the WNBA paid tribute to Brittney Griner by dawning her jersey during the second half of the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game. It was a touching scene as her colleagues offered their full support to Griner, who herself has been jailed in Russia for five months now.

Griner caught wind of the gesture and it appears to have lifted her spirits. A photo of the 31-year-old holding up a picture of her fellow WNBA players is currently making its rounds on social media — and for good reason (h/t ESPN's Alexa Philippou on Twitter):

Updates about Griner have been few and far between. This is a rare photo of her behind bars, which was apparently taken during her recent trial.

It might be a bit presumptive, but I can't help but notice how the Phoenix Mercury star appears to have a bit of a smile on her face. She's clearly far from happy, and you can see the sorrow in her eyes, but it seems as though this awesome gesture from her co-players has somehow given her a bit of a boost.

That's all well and good, but at this point, what Griner really needs is some real help from the United States. The government has been doing its part in trying to facilitate her release, but now that it has been well over 100 days since she's been detained on allegedly false drug charges, it is clear that its efforts have left a lot to be desired.
