The Denver Broncos got Bradley Chubb back on the field, although it wasn't for very long. Chubb got injured and is now set for surgery with a trip to the IR likely, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Chubb hurt his ankle during the Broncos Week 2 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now out for some time. Regardless, Chubb said he is as determined as ever and wants to find a way to get back sooner than later.

“I’m going to push everything I can to get back to these games and hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. My mindset is just going to be attack it 100 percent every day.”

Overall this is devastating news for the Broncos as the former first-round pick just needs to stay healthy to have any chance of asserting his dominance. On another note, the Broncos are 2-0 to start the year as Teddy Bridgewater has looked impressive, even after the injury to Jerry Jeudy who is also on IR.

Chubb's timeline is unclear and it all hinges on how well his recovery goes, but either way this is a huge blow to a Broncos defense that should be one of the best in the NFL in the 2021 campaign.
