Denver Broncos rookie Bradley Chubb has had himself a good week. First, he finally signed his rookie contract, which is a big deal. And then, he receives a major compliment from legendary pass-rusher and former Bronco DeMarcus Ware.

Ware, who will be working with Chubb this season as a part-time pass-rush consultant, believes the No. 5 overall pick has what it takes to be just like him.

“You know what?” Ware said, via Clark Judge of the Talk of Fame Sports Network. “He can be [like me]. He’s one of those guys who’s mature. He listens. And that’s what you want from a young guy. Because some of them come in very arrogant, saying, ‘OK, I’m in the league now.’ But to me, he has that ‘I just arrived’ mentality. ‘Now what do I need to do to deliver?’”

Ware is also excited about how Chubb can complement Miller while working on the opposite edge. He believes with those two the Broncos have “that tag-team” that they had with him and Miller.

“Chubb is probably 6-4, 270,” Ware said. “He’s the guy who can come in and be that power guy and really help Von out. … The attributes that he really brings to the game — stopping the run and being able to be that strong-side guy for Von — that’s what you need.”

It’s certainly high praise for Chubb that a terrific player like Ware believes the rookie can emulate what he did in his outstanding career. From a physical standpoint, Chubb looks every bit as imposing as Ware and has all the tools to be just as dominant.

Of course, Chubb still needs to do a lot more work to polish his game up to the point where Ware had his. But luckily for him, he’ll be able to get to learn from Ware this season, which should significantly help him reach his true potential.
