The Denver Broncos had an amazing offseason and 2020 NFL Draft, and there's no one happier in what transpired than quarterback Drew Lock.

After being named as the starter for the upcoming NFL season by Broncos general manager John Elway, Lock commented about the terrific job his team has done in the offseason.

“I’m super pumped about the guys we’ve added,” Lock said Tuesday in a Zoom call, via the Associated Press:

It's not hard to understand the enthusiasm that Lock is feeling. The Broncos have struck gold in the Draft by selecting a slew of receivers, one of them being the highly touted Alabama wideout Jerry Jeudy.

Prior to that, Elway surrounded Lock with more weapons by acquiring running back Melvin Gordon — inking him to a two-year, $16 million contract. To top it off, the team upgraded the offensive line by signing guard Graham Glasgow to a four-year deal, ensuring that Lock has the protection he needs.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lock — who's spending his time training at home — also mentioned how eager he is to get in touch with his Broncos receivers this offseason.

“Yeah, of course — when it is socially acceptable to do that and to have the best interests of everybody (in mind) as far as health goes,” Drew Lock said. “I’m going to keep that in mind first. But then once that is ready … I’ve got all of them on a text. So, whenever the professionals say it should be OK, whether that’s the NFL or that’s the CDC, we’re going to have them ready and we’re going to get out there and get this chemistry down and get things rolling.”

Selected with the 42nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Lock is entering his second year, which could be his first as a full-fledged starter under center.
