Former Denver Broncos third-round pick Brendan Langley found himself in a violent scuffle with an airport worker at Newark Airport this past weekend. The altercation was filmed and has since gone viral on Twitter.

The airport worker and Langley exchanged words before the worker slapped Langley in the face. Langley, who became much angrier, then attempted to throw punches at the worker. The worker backed up and toppled backward over the ticket counter as Langley continued to push and throw punches. The worker's head hit the ground hard and Langley retreated as bystanders intervened and stopped the situation from further escalating:

According to TMZ, Langley has been arrested and charged with simple assault. The worker, who works for United Airlines, has also been fired according to a spokesperson for United.

Langley's attorney, Alan Jackson, has put out this statement on the matter, via TMZ:

“Brendan Langley was minding his business walking through the airport with his bags when he was accosted by a United Airlines employee who claimed to ‘run the airport,'” Jackson says.

“When Brendan tried to ignore him, the assailant followed and harassed Brendan, calling him a ‘d***' and a ‘p***y' and challenging him to fight.”

Langley was drafted by the Broncos in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Coming out of Lamar, Langley showed lots of promise as a cornerback. Unfortunately he never really lived up to that promise. He mostly spent time as a third- and fourth-string cornerback on the roster, until the Broncos waived him in September 2018. Langley signed to the Broncos' practice squad before eventually making his way back briefly to the active roster. He attempted to switch to the wide receiver position, but the Broncos waived him for the final time in August 2019. Since then, he has had brief stints on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad and in the XFL.

He was signed by the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL in February 2022. The Stampeders announced that they are investigating the situation with Langley and that he has been suspended by the team.

This incident might unfortunately be the final nail in the coffin for his football career.
