The football world was hit with a shocking news last Thursday, as Denver Broncos legend Demaryius Thomas tragically passed away in his home. It's reported that the wide receiver died due to a seizure he suffered in the shower of his home in Roswell, Georgia. It was heartbreaking to see such a well-loved person in the NFL leave the world so soon, and at such a young age too.
A small consolation we get from this news, though, is hearing all the stories players, fans, and members of the media have about Demaryius Thomas. One such story came from one of Thomas' Broncos teammate, Tyler Polumbus. He spoke fondly about how DT (as he's called by many) took care of his son during their team's Super Bowl run.
DT sat with my son son the entire plane ride home from Super Bowl, held him on his lap on Bus, carried him and hoisted him on fire truck during the parade and celebrated with him as if his own kid. I hope my son remembers 88. pic.twitter.com/tpByZZaklo

Aside from being an absolute unit on the field, DT was a pure soul off of it. There are countless stories of Thomas being a class act for his teammates, or being incredibly kind to his fans (Broncos lifer or not). His legacy will not just be about his football career; it will also be about his incredible character off the field.
Tyler Polumbus' story about his son and Demaryius Thomas garnered significant attention on social media. Rather than make it about himself, the ex-Broncos player urged fans to tweet out their photos with DT.

And as a bonus, Polumbus' son DID remember his adventures with Demaryius Thomas. It's a sweet memory that will surely melt the hearts of every football fan in the world.
Picked up my son from golf tonight and he said “Oh Dad! Do you remember when DT went and got the Lombardi Trophy on the plane, put it in my lap and then told me not to give it back to your teammates?” Totally forgot that one. I guess he does remember!

Rest in peace, Demaryius Thomas. You were a great soul, and you've impacted the lives of many people (fans and rivals alike) in a positive way.
