The Denver Broncos have dug themselves a deeper hole after falling short in another game they could have won. This time, it was the Indianapolis Colts who benefited from Denver's lack of killer instinct in a 15-13 game. Joe Flacco and his Broncos offense couldn't get the points needed to succeed, and the veteran quarterback wasn't happy after the game.

Flacco was especially upset about the lack of aggressive play-calling late in the game, taking some clear shots at the coaching:

This is a big deal for everybody because a player of Joe Flacco's stature doesn't talk about his team's lack of drive that often. When he's calling out the coaches and the team for a lack of aggression, it's a sure sign that things aren't going well.

Of course, Flacco wasn't lying here and had every right to say this after yet another close loss. The Broncos have failed in a number of close games this season, and it has to be frustrating for the quarterback to deal with these issues, even if he shares some blame.

Joe Flacco completed 20 of his 32 pass attempts for just 174 yards. He didn't turn the ball over, but he was sacked three more times and fumbled once, though it was recovered. He also didn't throw any touchdowns. Denver managed only 279 yards offense and went a putrid 2-of-12 on third downs.

It must be embarrassing for Vic Fangio to hear his QB1 talk about the team's shortcomings this publicly. There will definitely be conversations done regarding this outburst. Whether the team improves as a result is a whole different question.
