Fans scrolling social media might have been slightly confused after seeing images of Peyton Manning and Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson together in Colorado Rockies jerseys. Believe it or not, Manning and Wilson are not the latest signees for the rocky mountain baseball team. They were filming scenes for Manning's ESPN show, Peyton's Places.

The multi-season documentary, hosted by Manning, explores many facets of sports in a unique and fun way. This isn't Manning's first time filming with Broncos royalty, though. In an earlier episode, Manning met up with Broncos legend John Elway, where the two discussed the infamous “Elway cross.” Elway used to throw the ball so hard, that it would leave a mark on his receivers in one way or another.

Donning baseball pinstripes isn't new for Wilson, however.

Russell Wilson was drafted in the fourth round by the Colorado Rockies in 2010. Wilson played two seasons in the minor league with the Rockies' affiliate teams. He put up decent stats that included five home runs and 26 RBIs, but he ultimately made the decision to enroll at the University of Wisconsin where he would continue to play football.

Despite the Rockies thinking Wilson had a shot at being a star in the MLB, Wilson chose to pursue another venture. And as you've probably seen, the decision to play football ended up being the better decision.

The Peyton's Places episode featuring Wilson is set to air this upcoming season and can be streamed on ESPN+. There is no word on what exactly they'll do in the episode, but it will most likely be baseball-related.
