The start of the regular season is drawing near, but the Denver Broncos have yet to resolve their current quarterback situation.

In light of that, Trevor Siemian recently told Jeff Legwold of ESPN that he believes that he's shown enough to earn the starter spot despite first-year head coach Vance Joseph yet to state that same sentiment.

Joseph was asked immediately following the game against the 49ers if he had now seen enough to make the call on a starter and didn't tip his hand.

“I'm not sure, once we watch this tape and see where we are with that,” Joseph said on KUSA's television broadcast. “Our time frame is not important, but getting it right is.”

Siemian was asked if he had done enough to win the job, and the third-year pro replied: “I think so. I'm not the coach, but I think so.”

Siemian had been the Broncos' starter last season in 14 games where he threw for 3,401 passing yards on a 59.5 percent completion rate with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. However, he has had to re-demonstrate to the new coaching staff that he has should remain the starting quarterback.

The 25-year-old was quite efficient in his limited action on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers completing 8 of 11 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, his primary competition Paxton Lynch had a productive outing going 9-of-13 for 39 passing yards along with racking up 27 rushing yards. He also led the Broncos with three short scoring drives against the 49ers.

This is likely something that Joseph will let play out further to see if Siemian can further separate himself from Lynch as the clear-cut choice as the starter.
