The Denver Broncos look a little different than other teams at the start of their offseason training with first-year coach Vic Fangio having the team wear their game-day jerseys. It's a bit of an odd look, but Fangio has a good reason for it.

Fangio admitted to the media it is a bit odd but the jerseys are a light tighter than the loose shirts, which makes it harder for players to grab on, and create bad habits.

“It probably is,” coach Vic Fangio told reporters when asked whether the technique is unusual. But he has a good explanation for it.

“The whole reason we do that is to cut down on the grabbing,” Fangio said. “When you wear the loose shirts, it’s very easy — almost unavoidable — for the players to grab each other when they’re going against each other. Whether it be wide outs, DBs, the interior linemen, it’s just so easy to grab those loose jerseys. It’s not easy to grab in the game because they’re tight. So we want to make it game-like as much as we can. That’s why we practice with them.”

Although this isn't something that other teams have done in the past, it sure seems like it could catch on here the next few seasons. Any advantage you can gain in the NFL is a big one but it seems teams start to copy soon if it works. This feels like one of those things that could be copied very soon by other teams.
