Drew Lock has yet to step onto an NFL field for a regular-season appearance. However, the rookie quarterback's Denver Broncos teammates already see a star in him, in particular, outside linebacker Von Miller.
On Thursday, Miller compared Lock to Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo, citing his head-turning arm for a reason.
“He’s going to kill it,” Miller said, via Chad Jensen of Mile High Huddle. “He’s got everything you need. The other day he ran out and did like a little bootleg and he kind of threw it. It was an incomplete pass, but I’ve seen a lot of good ones play and that was probably the best incomplete pass that I’ve seen thrown. He has a little flip-up. He’s just a star in the making. You saw it with Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers and all these guys and then they just blow up. I see the same stuff for Drew. All he has to do is just keep doing what he’s doing and good karma and the type of guy he is it’s all going to come back to him.”
A second-round pick in April, Lock's time will come with the Broncos. The consensus is that the former Missouri Tiger will make his way onto the gridiron before the end of the 2019 season.
Heading into the NFL Draft, Lock earned first-round grades from many. However, his rawness may have dropped him to the second. If the Broncos can hone in on his limitless talent, they may finally have their guy.
